Fashion Week Round up

On 02/28/2012 by udblogger

Is it us or are more people excited about the outfits of the FROW than the actual fashion shows this season? Here at United Designers we have been keeping a keen eye on the stylish elite sat front row, whilst also planning our Spring/ Summer 2012 wardrobes as our new designer collective hits the Concept Store, talk about multi- tasking to the extreme! Whilst it’s hard to imagine ever wearing fur lined jackets here in Dubai, there were a few trends that made us want to book a winter break in Aspen just so we could look chic.

Out there prints seem to be having a moment amongst the fashion pose and we’ve got some amazing printed pieces from designer SHREKAHNTH coming into the Concept Store for S/S 2012. Peter Pilotto, Mulberry and Christopher Kane showcased some of these lust worthy digital prints in their Fall/Winter 2012 show, but we think this trend is going to be massive way before winter swings around.

Christopher Kane’s F/W 2012 collection outshone his competition in the lady like stakes with figure hugging pieces in feminine prints dominating the runway. We love the cut of these dresses and think they would look great for any occasion paired with a little cardigan.

We had to hold our breath when we saw the first model step foot on the runway for Burberry F/W 2012, their looks were so major. We love how each outfit was styled with cute little bow belts. In true Brit Burberry style the looks also heavily featured tweed in ode to their heritage, and the infamous Burberry Mac.

Giles Deacon’s F/W 2012 collection kept in with the running theme of digital prints, wowing the crowds with his creative take on gothic history. His collection colours were kept dark and showed mainly brown, mustard and black on the catwalk.

Gucci kept to the dark side for their F/W 2012 collection, with dramatic sweeping gowns and sheer fabric. Gucci designer Frida Giannini described the collection as ‘dark glamour’ and we’re inclined to agree!

Dolce and Gabbana used gilted adornment to the extreme in their Fall/Winter 2012 collection. With beautiful, brocade and luscious velvets and lace the FROW sat there mesmerised by the opulence.

Our Favourite FROWERS

Fashion week just would not be the same without the slew of fashionable front rowers that descend upon the fashion capitals in great throngs.

We couldn’t get over how stylish Poppy Delevigne looked throughout the fashion month, and here are a few others who we love.

Alexa Chung

Olivia Palermo

Rachel Zoe
