What to wear: Valentine’s night dressing

On 02/12/2012 by udblogger

Red was a major trend this awards season and who better to take a little inspiration from this Valentine’s night than the celebs that rocked their scarlet gowns! Whether you are going all out glamour puss for a night on the town with your beau or you’re having a quiet romantic evening on the beach, United Designers has something to suit everyone’s needs.

This red dress from ANAYA’s Valentine’s collection oozes Hollywood glamour and is perfect for an extravagant evening. Kate Winslet looked amazing in a similar design at the 2012 Emmys. Team with neutral accessorises for a demure look.

Awards season was rife with maxi skirts and dresses; one of our favourite celebrity looks was Salma Hayek, at the Golden Globes, whose black shimmering skirt looked amazing on her hour glass figure. Follow suit with ANAYA’s black velvet maxi skirt, teamed with the glittery red body suit from the same collection it is sure to make you stand out from the crowd.

Accessorise the outfit with some gold platforms, and for an extra polished look pull your hair into a neat bun. The good thing about this outfit is that you can dress it up or down. By simply swapping the platforms for flip flops, adding a black wrap, and teasing your hair into tousled waves you can create a look that’s perfect for Valentines on the beach

Another look we love at the moment is this cute as a button dress from poca & poca. The colour is just right for Valentine’s and we couldn’t help but notice a similar design on Leighton Meester’s character Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl. The bang on trend bow neck detail is perfect if you love the preppy look. Pair with black tights or long socks and ballet pumps and let your man serenade you along the walk at JBR.

We can’t get enough of statement necklaces at the moment; it’s a trend that just won’t go away and this Valentine’s inspired necklace from Meher & Riddhima is just the ticket to nail this look. Olivia Palermo, the queen of statement neckwear, uses hers to fab up an otherwise plain outfit. We think this necklace would look amazing with a simple black dress, Style the hair in a low pony tail like Ms. Palermo and enjoy the admirable glances from everyone in the restaurant! As part of our S/S 2012 collections we are overjoyed to welcome new looks from Maryam Al Shaibani, and part of her collection features this amazing red dress. It arrives in the United Designers Concept Store just in time for Valentine’s Day. Team the dress with gold sandals and some serious arm candy for a bold but comfy look perfect for a quiet couple’s dinner.

Having a right royal party for Valentine’s? Why not take inspiration from Kate Middleton, who is famous for her regal head ware. We predict headbands to be massive for spring/ summer 2012 and what better way to impress your beloved than this gorgeous
head band from Meher & Riddhima. Pair the look with jeans and a blouse for a laid back romantic trip to the cinema or dress it up with a shift dress and heels, either way all eyes will be on you!

Style dilemma: want to re-accessorise an outfit from last year?

Well look no further than this perfect accessory from A. Nuaimi designs. The stunning black limited edition clutch made exclusively for Valentine’s Day is just the ticket for giving a nod to the Valentine’s theme. Paired with jeans for a casual meal with the love in your life it will guarantee to make you feel warm and fuzzy inside. Alternatively team it with a sweet sundress and cardigan, the perfect outfit for a Valentines love ride down the creek.

Don’t forget you can get all these pieces and more at the United Designers Concept Store in Mirdif City Centre. Plus we have exclusive Valentine’s looks from Rouge Couture, perfect for where ever the night of love takes you.
